plugin fatal issue

It should not be a backup issue. Does your backup log still show that a recent one was made?

I’ve never had anyone else hit that issue, so yeah, that’s pretty odd!

I also got a similar email from my site about a fatal error. The email gave more details, pointing to the dreamobjects/lib/settings.php file:

After the first crash, I entered my website in recovery mode and found the DreamObjects Backups plugin suspended for recovery. I disabled it, exited recovery mode and tested the whole site and everything was fine. But the instant I reactivated the DreamObjects plug-in the site crashed again! Here is the error message this time. Note that I am using a very recent version of PHP. Could that be the problem? DreamHost has been updating PHP.

Update: I downgraded the PHP to 7.3 on my DreamHost server and was able to reactivate the DreamObjects Backups plugin without the immediate crash. So it would seem to be a problem with PHP 7.4.2 or the newer PHP is being pickier about the plugin code.

I also just completed an ad-hoc backup with no problems.

I suggest you test the plug-in with PHP 7.4.2

Got the same message. Unfortunately that means I won’t be using the plugin until there is a fix.

There is a fix. Sorry it took so long, this never emailed me! 7.4.x compatibility is complete.
