• Great plugin!! Thank you for this.

    My issue is the following:

When I receive emails generated from this form plugin the text in the message field is “formatted”. So if I copy and paste the text i received in my email into my WordPress Add Post text field it’s almost as if there are 4 inches taken off the right side margin. This has me going though the entire post and backspacing and then hitting enter until the text fits the page.

A better way to describe it may be this: If the area for text in a new post is 800 what I receive in my emails from Fast Secure forms is 300. When I cut and paste it stays 300 until I manually make it all fit properly.

I thought this may have something to do with the Styling settings of the individual form. But after messing with them, they didn’t seem to affect the format in which the text was received via email.

If you don’t get this and would still like to help I can send you screen shots.

I receive a lot of posts via the form and depending on the length of them this issue is adding 5-10 minutes onto adding the post to my blog.

To this I would also like to as if there is any way to add a character limit to a text area field?

I started working on a solution. I have it working on my system. But I need to test more before I commit to the new code. Because when you start changing email mime settings and message formatting, strange things can happen in different email clients. I have to be careful when fixing one problem that I do not make more problems.

it would be fantastic if you could get this remedied. I used a different form on my other blog and it doesn’t have this issue. But I really do like this plug in better despite this issue. I use Gmail if that helps any.

How about the character limiting? Is that a possibility? Or perhaps it’s a setting that I’ve over looked.

Character limiting is not a current feature. Maybe sometime I will add it.

I figured out the wordwrap problem. If you want to use it before a version higher than 2.9.7.1 is realesed, you have to install this trunk version. Here is what is new:

    – Added setting in E-Mail section: “Enable to receive email as HTML instead of plain text.” Enable if you want the email message sent as HTML format. HTML format is desired if you want to avoid a 70 character line word wrap when you copy and paste the email message. Normally the email is sent in plain text word wrapped 70 characters per line to comply with most email programs.
    – Fix: one CAPTCHA random position always has to be a number so that a 4 letter swear word could never appear.
    – Added new settings in the “Redirect” section: You can Enable posted data to be sent as a query string on the redirect URL. This can be used to send the posted data via GET query string to a another form.
    – New settings for redirect: “Query string fields to ignore”, “Query string fields to rename”, and “Disable email sending (use only when required while you have enabled query string on the redirect URL)”. [See FAQ](https://www.fastsecurecontactform.com/sending-data-by-query-string)
    – Fixed a multiple email problem if using the same form in several posts. Anyway, it is recommended to use the form in a page or sidebar, not a post.
    – Added Romanian (ro_RO)

Here is how you can use it today if you do not want to wait for version higher than 2.9.7.1

Actually the unzipped file was too big for my ftp client and it couldn’t unzip the zipped file for some odd reason. Looks like I will have to suffer until the next update. ??

Any idea when that will occur?

a day or two. But I was hoping to find out if this works for you before It starts getting pushed out to 8,0000+ in one day.

You do not really have to upload by FTP.
On the plugins admin page, find “Fast Secure Contact Form” and click “Deactivate”.
When the plugin is deactivated, the forms and settings are still saved
in the database. Do NOT click “Delete” or your forms will be deleted!

Use a FTP program such as FileZilla to connect to your web server.
Delete this folder from your server: /si-contact-form/ You can find it inside /wp-content/plugins/

    Now you can auto install.
Install automatically through the Plugins, Add New menu in WordPress. Search for it, then click install

ok… I checked the email in HTML radio button and submitted an email via the form. Just received it and it is still wrapping the text and limiting it to 70 characters.

Make sure the text you put in to be emailed is not already wrapped, because it will not unwrap it.

    Please contact me here:

I will have you set my email as a CC so I can test it.

I do not want to post my email in the forum
