    Hello Mike!

Thanks for the fast reply – I tried manually installing the plugin via FTP, but when I go to the Plugin Panel via WP, it’s still not there. Not sure what’s going on, do you have any idea?

It might be a hosting issue, not really sure!

    Thanks again for any help,

    Henry

    Hey Mike,

    Sorry to bother you again!

What are the permission settings that the plugin has to have in the server? and where do I set them, wp-content directory??

For what I have been reading in the forums, this might be a permission settings issue with my hosting/server.

    Thanks,

    Henry

Only the CAPTCHA should require special permissions as far as I know. It needs to write files to the temp folder.

Not all servers use the same permission setting, so there is no one correct answer for everybody.

On my HostGator Linux server account, all the folders are 755 and the files are 644 (but other servers may have different requirements)

If in doubt contact your web host support dept.

I had exactly the same problem using the WordPress upgrade option. It appears to be a problem with this version of the installer package. All other ones installed or upgraded without issue.

When I checked the si-contact-form wp plugins folder after the failed installation; all the files and folders were removed except for: si-contact-form/captcha-secureimage folder.

There was one file not removed from it, I think it was one the capture files, sorry can’t remember exactly which one.

Apparently WordPress could not remove that file in the captcha-secureimage folder and the installation failed.

Luckly, I just recovered the the si-contact-form folder from a back-up and all is well. I just have not bothered to upgrade, but I might try a manual upgrade at some point.

Just thought I would bring it up in case there is a problem with the installer.

chorse, the problem you had is discussed on this FAQ page.

    Thanks for the reply.

I tried updating with the most recent version and it updated without a hitch. The problem I had was with the 2/24 installer. I do not know why it did not work, but I tried it several times, hours apart without success. The 2.9.8.5 version seems to install without issues. Perhaps the ISP provider was doing some maintenance on the system at the time.

Anyway, I will know how to deal with it in the future.

    BTW: Great plugin. Works great.
