    Hi Everyone,

    My recent updates failed for some reason and it has thrown everything out and the plugins have disappeared altogether now when i try install it says the file already exists normally to fix this i would login to my file manager delete the affected plugin and reinstall but its no where to be seen any help would be great.

    @1151simon,

    What you can do is actually going to your wp-content/plugins folder using ftp access and remove the plugin folder here, then return to your WordPress dashboard and install the plugin again. This should work.

    Hi Sona,

    Thanks for the reply but as said above i have already tried this and the folder isn’t there i’ve removed tables from the database to, restarted server, made sure all files have write permissions and its still coming back as file already exists so im lost usually these steps would fix it.

    Right Click and open in new tab the file isn’t there ?? i do however have other plugins installed that aren’t on this list either any suggestions ??

    @1151simon,

    To check out whether the plugin folder is there try adding the following to your website url /wp-content/plugins/photo-gallery/ and if it returns 403 error and not 404 error it means the folder is still there. Alternatively you can unzip the gallery folder rename it, zip it back and re-upload it. But this way you will not have access to its updates.
