I received an email from WordPress saying “WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, W3 Total Cache” I wasn’t able to login as normal but I was able to login in recovery mode which has paused the plugin.

In WordPress Dashboard/Plugins, this is the error:

An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 452 of the file /home/capeco20/capecodupholstery.com/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/Cache_File.php. Error message: Illegal length modifier specified ‘f’ in s[np]printf call

I have the same issue with another WordPress(BoldGrid) site as well.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

I am having the same/similar issue. The site has been fine for months with no changes. Yesterday it crashed. I am using W3 Total Cache, and I am on a shared hosting package with InMotion.

Your Site is Experiencing a Technical Issue
In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, W3 Total Cache.

An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 158 of the file …wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/Cache_File.php. Error message: Illegal length modifier specified ‘f’ in s[np]printf call

I was not even able to login to my WP admin dashboard. From the back end we disabled W3 Total Cache plugin and then the site loaded. I have cleared my CDN ache, but I am concerned about REMOVEING the W3 plugin and then re-install because I will loose my configuration (which I paid W3 to help me with). Is there a way to save and then restore my settings if I remove and reinstall the plugin?
