[Plugin: Facebook] Where 'Social Reader' gone from Recommendation bar?

right! i’ve lost it too this morning ??

Even i have lost it and I can’t even see it on other websites too. Maybe some features of Facebook plugin are not supported with WordPress 3.4.

amitchahar No! I have installed Facebook Plugin in 3.4 version only.

And last night (IST) it was working fine, and ‘Social Reading Off’ was appearing. But in the morning it totally disappeared from all the sites. Though, i found that it was not working correctly in user’s end.

Any Facebook Plugin Developer can comment on this? It would be helpful. Thanks.

The same thing has happended with me. Social reading has suddenly disappeared

I have the same problem since this morning and there is any information on Facebook Developper and Facebook Developper Blog, anyone know something ? Is it just a bug ?

Ours was missing as well… I would see a button to enable the “Social Reader” when the box was expanded though… I am noticing that there is a lack of a “disable Social Reader” now though.
Perhaps it is something that Facebook is tweaking, given the number of times they were denying application submissions due to the missing “remove from my timeline” option… hope to see it come back soon.

The Recommendations Bar is currently in beta. We have temporarily removed the social reading functionality of the feature as we test the product and iterate further. We’ll follow up with updates. Thanks

This plugin has the potential to be really good if all the bugs could be ironed out.

The issue with the Recommendation Bar (the reason social reading was removed) was that Facebook requires users to be able to remove “read” actions from their timeline from your website and at the time that feature was not available in the bar.

To further complicate the matter, while there are options to manually make the “remove from timeline” function work, the Recommendation Bar terms required all actions and calls to be initiated through the Bar.

Basically, facebook required the recommendation bar to perform an action that they hadn’t built it to do.
