    On your edit page in WordPress, there is a new box that gives you options related to cross-posting to Facebook. Check the box there to post the entry to Facebook.

    Login to your wordpress, click Add New under Posts on the left. At the bottom of the page, there is a box titled Facebook Shared Comments.

    If the box isn’t showing up, make sure you have activated the plugin. To do this, click on Plugins on the left, find the plugin, and click Activate.

    Upon clikcing Add nee Post at the botttom I get a table headed Facebook Shared Comments, inside the table a line saying

    Login/Permissions Check
    Login Status: Determining…

    stdClass Object
    (
    [ID] => 0
    [post_name] =>
    [post_author] =>
    [post_date] =>
    [post_date_gmt] =>
    [post_password] =>
    [post_status] => draft
    [post_type] => post
    [to_ping] =>
    [pinged] =>
    [comment_status] => open
    [ping_status] => open
    [post_pingback] => 1
    [post_category] => 1
    [post_content] =>
    [post_title] =>
    [post_excerpt] =>
    [page_template] => default
    [post_parent] => 0
    [menu_order] => 0
    [filter] => raw
    )

    It looks like I inadvertanty left a bunch of debugging stuff in there. This made it so anyone not using the firebug extension under Firefox was unable to use the plugin.

    I have now released version 1.1 of the plugin that fixes this issue.

    Hi vericgar;

    I’ve entered the app secret and key, clicked ok, activated the plug in, gone to create new post and gone to the bottom of the page;

    it is stuck on login status determining..

    Unfortunately, same for me as well…just seems to be stuck on login status determining..

    OK…now get the following as a box on my new post page

    But I dont know what to do now as nothing seems to be cross-posting to Facebook? (I thought all you needed was to have the box ticked)

    Maybe the instructions need to be redone so that non-techies like myself get it!

    Hi,
    I’m getting this Login/Permissions Check Login Status: Determining… in the Facebook Shared comments box and this message on top of the page parameter uid or session key required

    Any ideas?

    I’m using WP 2.9.2 and the default theme

    I’ve found an error (wich doesn’t resolve this problem) on line 20 of fb-shared-comments.php
    define('FBSC_DIR', 'fb-shared-comments');
    the correct line would be
    define('FBSC_DIR', 'facebook-shared-comments');
    wich is the folder name that the plugin extracts.

    I figured out the Login/Permissions Check Login Status: Determining… problem,
    the plugin is fine (except the line I commented early that only corrects some images).
    What you need to do is to configure your application on FB, once you create it you need to set this values

    after that the meta_box let’s you publish your post on your profile.

    Hi,
    first off i really like the idea of this plugin. But I can’t really get it to work like it should. I inserted all the info like ‘sirgt’ mentioned, however i cant get it to work. Whenever I comment on the the post on FB in doesnt show on my website, neither does the like function. And the only time when i the comment i made on my website shows up in on my fb wall is when i say post to wall.

    If everything works like it should! What does it look like? 1 wallpost saying check out this post on my website and then all the comments given on this post trough fb and the website, will show like regular comments on a status update? Is this correct?

    One other thing, does anyone know if it’s possible to post it to my fanpage instead?!

    Cheers..

    Thanks sirgt for your comprehensive walkthrough. It can take a while for the new app to work on the FB side of things – about 20 minutes in my case, but all good now.

    I am receiving this error:

    parameter uid or session key required

    On the top of my add post page after adding a new post.

    I have now fixed the previous errors, thanks to sirgt for the help

    I now get the same error as brokenflipside above

    any ideas?

    thanks in advance
