• Although the plugin is a relieve in terms of load time, I do miss the “Like” function. Clicking the Like button in the xfbml or iFrame FB-thingy gets me another fan. The button of this widget just brings the reader to my FB page – just as a simple textlink could do as well. Am I missing something or is there something missing that’ll come with the next version?

This is a hairy issue. Using the iframe or fbml, facebook has access to your account and information, since they are loading a page from their site. This doesn’t.

Now, all the information and JavaScripts are there, so it *should* be able to be done, given enough time and research. A lot of people are asking for this, so it’s for sure slated for a future version, I just don’t know when.

Well, one can’t have everything (would be nice though). For once I took your plugin for the index pages and left the original FB thing on the singular sidebar. This way the front page speed rank jumped from 93 to 95 and takes roughly 2 seconds less loading time. Now front page and singular views have the same short loading time (if there is not a forgotten image spoiling the measurement).
