[Plugin: Facebook Comments for WordPress] Spotty Notifications

  • Posted this on the WE8U website, but it seems like there is some better response time here.

    Hoping to hear some feedback on this one. I realize that e-mail notifications aren’t working in the latest version, so I’m fine with that. However, I DO have “Notify via Facebook” setup with my Facebook ID, and I’m not getting any notifications via Facebook. At least, I don’t think I am? I commented on a post and saw that comment show up in my Facebook Feed, but I didn’t actually receive a Notification. This happens with other comments sporadically at best, and almost never with replies to other comments. Is this how the function works?

    Also, I don’t receive any notifications on the Dashboard widget. It always displays “No comments!”, though I know comments are being posted.

    Lastly, I can never see anybody’s name in the “Like” feature. I know friends of mine have “Liked” posts, but their names/pictures often don’t show up. It kind of seems fickle and will either display or not display the pictures without any reasoning. Also, several posts that go up immediately have returned “1 Person Liked This!”. I know that’s not true, because there wouldn’t have been time for anyone to see or like it. Any ideas there?

    Otherwise, it’s great! Was easy to setup and pop into my page, and it’s seamlessly integrated with my FB Page.

    Something else I’ve noticed – I run a site with several different bloggers posting articles. I don’t get notifications when someone comments on one of their posts, it seems – just when someone comments on one of mine, but even that doesn’t ALWAYS come through. If I reply to someone else’s post and someone replies to that, I do get a notification. Just seems like there’s some trouble making it there from time to time.
