So it worked fine for me – when I click the login button, it asked me if I wanted to connect it to my facebook account, went through the checklist and everything works.

My business partner, who has the same WordPress admin privs as I do, clicks the Login button, same process of accepting access, same email address as facebook on his wordpress user account, but when he tries to go to the backend, he gets an error that he doesn’t have Dashboard privs. He’s disconnected and reconnected twice and it does the same thing.

He’s also gone into facebook and deleted the app from his account and readded it through trying to log in. Same error.

I can go into the dashboard and it shows his facebook email address and User ID on his WordPress user account and his access level in WordPress is still shown as Administrator.

Try to find if there is not a conflicting account.

If that not work, you can try to clean old data.
If you are connected, you can go to the url https://yoursite.com/facebook-awd/unsync where yoursite.com is your site url.
this will unlink the current account.

He had originally used a different email address so when he linked the account it created a new wordpress acccount. I deleted that wordpress account and he deleted the app on his facebook profile then tried to link the correct ones but thats when the dashboard error started.

He can’t unsync the account because he can’t load the dashboard.

It’s very strange because the plugin role is “administrator”

Try to find why he can’t load the dashboard ?

then ask him to logout both FB and WP, then login with regular account on WP, then login with FB to sync the accounts.

Or just log in WP and go on this url https://yoursite.com/facebook-awd/unsync

Let me see if I can figure it out. I entered his facebook information on his wordpress account settings page, saved, then clicked unsync, then re-added.

If that doesn’t work, I’ll try recreating the duplicate account created in wordpress when he originally tried connecting, link them, then unsync them and delete the duplicate.
