I’ve been trying to set up the events manager plugin, but to no avail.

I had already set it up on a dummy site and it worked fine. On the site I really want to use it, I get this message at the top of plugins page when I try to activate:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 30146560) (tried to allocate 1245184 bytes) in mysite/wp-content/plugins/events-manager/admin/em-options.php on line 1227

I’ve tried to re-install this plugin. I’ve deactivated and reactivated other plugins. I even tried increasing wp memory, but I don’t think this that is the issue. What I do know, is that is that it is conflicting with buddypress.

This plugin seems awesome, but I need it to work on my site. Any help would be great.

  • EM and Buddypress should work together; can you give more details on that issue?

I have tried many variations of activating and deactivating plugins. It was driving me crazy. In the end, you are right. Events Manager and BuddyPress work together.

It is the plugin BuddyPress Group Documents that is the culprit. It is a plugin that is no longer available or supported. It conflicts with Events Manager, plain and simple. And it will probably conflict with plugins in the future.

While I’d like to use Events Manager, members are using Buddypress Group Documents to store and share documents such as PDF’s. I’ll have to come up with an alternative solution to replace BuddyPress Group Documents in order to move forward and activate Events Manager.

    Thanks for your quick response.

    thx for updating us!
