[Plugin: Events Manager] Importing events from CSV

Anyone have any ideas on importing? Is it planned to be built into the system? Can a csv importer upload into all the appropriate sections within EM? Is this a pro option? Any advice is much appreciated.

currently there is no importer, we’ll eventually add some but a few months away probably

Are areas like location, start and end date, categories actually custom fields? If so, a bulk importer could probably upload to the system.

No they’re not, in v5 locations are their own post types, and they have corresponding records in another table as well. start dates etc. are custom fields as you say.

Because of inter dependencies between various objects, it’s not a straightforward thing

Think I might have to find a sql pro to do this for me as I’m not finding a simple solution..

No solution as of yet. The value of being able to bulk import events is huge. In my case I have a partner site I’m working with who runs literally thousands of events per month. They love the work I’ve done but and they have a very nice csv file they can export. I can set up a csv parser to accomodate whatever setup EM would need but it seems at this point it is too complicated.

No, I have not reached a solution. I’m considering the options of working with another plugin at (Event Espresso?) this point. Love everything about EM but I need to be able to bulk import events.

I’m actually upgrading my site now. Unsure of whether I will switch or not still…on the fence.
