[Plugin: Events Manager] How can I use with Custom template?

Hello! I am trying to use this with a custom wordpress template page. The plugin is saying that it’s setup and ready to go. I’ve input some of the settings options, including switching the EVENTS PAGE dropdown box to the custom page I want it to display on. This page is called “Shows”. I did try using a page template titled “Events” as well, since that is what the default page is called anyway. Before I tried any of that. I went directly to https://www.mysite.com/events and nothing was showing either. What am I doing wrong? I appreciate any responses in advance!!
