If i click on a page of a category (not category list, but single page) i see under de list all comments of the blog.
With this string: “thoughts on “Corso di Formazione”
Where “Corso di Formazione” is my category, but comments are disable into event manager, then i can’t undestand.
It happens only with an un-autenticated user, if i’m logged i don’t see this comments.
Can you suggest me where i can find more info?
    Is it a bug?

  • This might be a theme issue with custom taxonomies.

Hi, if I understand correctly, I’m betting your categories page has comments enabled. This is the standard WP page under Pages in your WP admin area, you should see an option to disable coments if you quick edit it.

    Thanks for answer
@aglonwl my theme is standard twenty eleven
@marcus it’s not category page but every page of a single category. I can’t find it in pages list, page of a single category is not under post or pages ??
I can do what you suggest only for category page.

    Obviously category comments are disable.
Infact i can’t see comment form, and if i’m and authenticated user i don’t see anything.
Only like unauthenticated user i see this strange lists of comments.
You can see the problem here:

Categories don’t even have comments, I mean the page EM uses to display categories. Try visiting https://blog.nethesis.it/events/categories/corso-formazione/#.UE80CI1lTzs and click ‘edit page’ in your admin bar and then try disabling comments there.

otherwise, it may be your theme forcing comments on that page.

    Thanks Marcus
I have clicked on admin bar but there isn’t a checkbox for disable comments.

Theme is the standard theme for wordpress ??
It seems a bug for me. How can i notify this?

I’m pretty sure this isn’t a bug (if so we’d note it down and fix it). Check your screen options when editing the event (top right of screen) and make sure the discussions box is enabled.

If not, you need to re-enable comments in your settings (WP not EM) and find that discussion box.

I’ve been able to recreate this issue with a clean installation of WordPress using the default theme. Steps after installing the Events Manager plugin:

    1. Create a new Event Category.
    2. Copy the “View” link for that category and log out, or open the link in another browser where you aren’t logged in to WordPress.
    3. At the bottom of the category page, all comments on the blog (from other posts, etc.) will be displayed.

I’ve only noticed this issue when viewing a specific category. It does not appear to show up on the “Categories” page and it does not happen when you are logged in to the WordPress admin area.

I am using WordPress 3.4.2, and I have tested this without any other plugins or custom themes installed.

Thanks net_wp. I have disable category for this problem.
