[Plugin: Events Manager] – Adding To Category & Not Pages

Hi guys,
I like events manager so far but I do find the support to be confusing. For various reasons, Id like events manager to appear in a category and not a page. I did get the event listings to display in a category (archive.php) however the search didnt show.

Is events manager made also for categories or am i trying to do something that I cant. If not, please help me understand why the search will not display, heres the code I am using:
