I’m trying to have people automatically book online I’ve tried the forum on the site which won’t let me in to ask this question so I figured I’d post it here. And hope someone responds. How do you setup an automated booking for the event. I see where they can send there info then we approve them and it sends them an email but we should have a way of actually setting it up where they are automatically billed and registered.

  • I tried this, too, and it’s kind of useless if people can’t actually register and pay online, otherwise why not just link to a meetup account or set it up some other way? I installed the plugin and completed each setting page and get nothing but a page describing the event. I could do this on my own. There’s a calendar widget, but it doesn’t display events at all and when you click on the event it’s impossible to register or pay and the page doesn’t show up when it’s made public – so I’m kind of lost with this. It looks great but does nothing at all. I could create a page myself, create a PayPal link and then create a text widget called Events. Maybe that would be easier. I’m confused and just don’t get it.

It works. The PayPal specific code DOES report back to your server when the payment is processed. There’s an “IPN” interface standard at work. (You just include the booking form, #_ADDBOOKINGFORM, in the “Default single event format”.)

Right now we have events for which 7 people have registered, and our EME “Pending Approvals” page shows that so far 3 of them have successfully paid through PayPal.

Technically we never really bother to “approve” the registrations within EME; all that would do is generate more e-mail messages. As far as I can tell it’s more for internal bookkeeping than anything else.
