[Plugin: Eventbrite for The Events Calendar] Issues customizing plugin

I have been having an issue customizing this plugin for my theme.
1. I want to put a white background behind the calendar text so that you can actually see the content view the page here https://whatwaltcando.com/wordpress/category/events/upcoming/

2. it does the same thing on this page https://whatwaltcando.com/wordpress/category/events/month/

3. it has the white background on the event info page https://whatwaltcando.com/wordpress/2010/02/2010skitrip/ but it is not behind the text at the top.

How can I have a hite background behind all elements of this calendar?
