[Plugin: Event Organiser] add new forms to Event Details to display in sidebar

Thanks Zack – it’s really helpful when reports are split up to be able to track each one – and it’s also much easier for others with the same problem to find a solution.

You can add an extra metabox to the event-edit page (an event is just a post of ‘event’ type so post meta etc is completely supported). But you can’t add extra fields into the event details meata-box (currently, but I will add in an action that will allow you to do this!).

What you’re suggesting is absolutely possible. Having added an extra metabox (see this example) with the appropriate fields you can then save these multimedia links as post meta. I’d recommend then creating a widget (that only does anything on a single event page) – which takes these saved urls from the post meta and lists them.

Alternatively you could make use of the ‘custom fields’ that events do (or can, see the settings) support. ‘Custom fields’ are just an easy way of storing post meta.

It sounds like what I need has less to do with the Event Organiser plugin and more to do with adding additional meta data through A) a separate plugin or B) by hand coding. I’m not sure I’m up for creating my own widget, but I’ve found a few solutions using additional plugins and editing some of the theme .php files, though so far none of the solutions are entirely ideal.

hey stephen .. m using advnaced custom fields plugin with event organiser for adding custom fields.in events and venues. bt i am not able to show them at front end ,, please help
