[Plugin: Event Calendar] Fatal Error

    WordPress version 2.6
    Theme–Journalist 1.9
    website for blog: https://www.vetvenue.org/blog/

    Uploaded it to the correct directory. Activated the plugin. Then added it as a widget, and hit “save changes”. I receive the following error:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function: strip_() in \\frigga\home\users\web\b2699\ph.ffctc3223\blog\wp-content\plugins\events-calendar\ec_management.class.php on line 291

    Computer programming/coding is not my strong point. Any ideas? Thank you.
