    Hi,

We’ve just installed your plugin on our website but we’re getting the warning below
“We’ve detected there’s already an existing Analytics tag on your site”

I have tried to find what could be causing this error but I can’t find it.

Is there an easy way to find the issue so we can activate the plugin?

    Thanks

  • Hello @99uavvw ,

Thanks for opening a support topic.

It seems already existing tag is coming from the previously installed plugin or any theme options from the installed theme.

To locate the already inserted tag you need to apply basic troubleshooting as following:

    1. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
    2. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
    3. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
    4. Visit the website to see either Analytics Snippet is showing or not

You can exit troubleshooting mode afterwards.

    Thanks & Regards,

@99uavvw are you still seeing duplicate tag? We’d be happy to assist you.

    Hi Abdullah,

    Sorry for the late reply.

The issue has been resolved. I think it was being caused by the images being ‘Smushed’ at the same time as we were looking at the sizes but it is okay now.

Thanks for offering to help and sorry to waste your time.

@99uavvw Great to hear Site Kit and specifically Analytics is now working as expected. While images on a users site wouldn’t usually impact existing Analytics snippets be sure to reach out if you’d like us to troubleshoot this or any other Site Kit related issue and we’d be happy to help.
