• Hi there,

I have EBP installed on a dev instance of my website and I’m encountering an issue which I have no idea how to even begin to fix. Well, actually there are 2 issues. The first has a bit of a workaround but it’d be nice to see it fixed, the second is at least to me a big issue that needs to get addressed ASAP if I want to use this for our professional website:

1.) The first issue is that, when doing a Zotero Sync, for most of my publications, the date got pulled in but a year was never extracted from that date to go into the Bibliography entry. As a result, most of my publications show up as having no year at all. I had to manually go in and add a year for each one. This happened especially for the article type, as well as book sections.
2.) The second issue is that running Zotero Sync now is saying that there are no changes, even though there are only 5 publications in the bibliography that are from 2012 but there are 9 from 2012 in my Zotero. I don’t know why these are getting glossed over, but it is not because of the publication type or any other issue that I can see. I’ve tried editing the Zotero entries to try and stimulate it to recognize that there’s a change, to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi,

    Thanks for your feedback.

    1) During Zotero synchronization, EBP does try to parse the date and it used the default php function date_parse. However, Zotero’s date field is really just a text field with no validation/restriction on the date format, so not all user input can be parsed by EBP. My suggestion would be either format your date field in zotero according to the format from the link above, or as what you have done, add year manually. If you know a better way to fix this issue, please let me know and I would be happy to add it to EBP.
    2) I would need more information to help you. Can you go to the bibliplug setting page, set debug to true, and then sync it again? Please let me know what (error/warning) message you see.

    Thanks again.
    Zuotian
