• Hi!
When I want to go to email users I receive this “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.” what is happening? I’m the only admin with all right on server.

  • No, that didn’t work either. Actually, I have been deleting the directory on the host prior to every reinstall anyway. If other 2.8.2 users are getting the menu item, then it would seem to be something on my wp install or my host.

Thanks for the try, though. I hate this. That plugin was great.

Do you have any other plugins that create their own menus? Or any that modify the menu or could be interfering somehow?

You could also try doing a Re-Install via the Tools->Upgrade menu to get WordPress to check if there are any problems with the WordPress files. It should work without a problem, but you’re best off doing backups of things first. Worth a shot I guess.

StatPress Reloaded and WP Photo Album both create a menu item and I’ve deactivated and reactivated them to check if they were still able to create the menu and they did. While deactivated I tried activating Email Users to check for conflicts; none, same result.

I just tried the Tools-Upgrade you suggested then tried all the above again. No change.

For some reason activation is not creating that menu item. I wish I knew more about the inner workings of this stuff.

Ok, I’ll have another look over it later on today after work.

    Dear Member “scythah”
the link above you’ve provided damn !!!!! It was awesome !!! worked like a charm ,,
    Thousand thanks friend !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just applied and used the plug in. It is functional again. Thanks.

Actually, I just continued working on the site and noticed that not did you fix it, you brought out some extra functionality that I didn’t have before.

    BRILLIANT!

Glad it’s working for you both. jmilford, guess it’s a problem with your setup then. If you get a chance, maybe you could try disabling all plugins, enable this one and see if it works. If it does, then start enabling others again until we find out where the problem lies.

If anyone has any other extra functionality that they would like to see added, create a new issue for me and I’ll try to get it done for you.

I noticed that %POST_EXCERPT% doesn’t display whole post content anymore if you don’t have post excerpt set for certain post. I send emails with full post content inside, so it’d be great to have this back, or at least make new template tag for allowing us to insert whole post content in the mail.

    Thanks!

Ok manca, I’ve updated it for you. See how that goes.

You might need to go to the settings page first to change it to the setting you want (let me know if when you first install it it shows the “Display full post content” option but acts as though “Display nothing” is selected).

    scythah,

I got it working! It seems that the 2.8.1 upgrade reset all user role capabilities to WordPress defaults. I had set some capabilities in ‘Capabilities Manager’ plugin that got zapped. I had given up on Email Users and was looking to do some other things and needed to reinstall Capabilities Manager and happened to notice that there were email caps that I had FORGOTTEN about. Reset those and voila! The menu item appeared and everything seems to work.

Thanks a bunch for you efforts.
    Jim

    Glad you got it working.
