  • Just FYI, you need to put the comment by joeydrums in the Screenshot examples. Its not clear you need to put [email-download download_id=”1,2,3,4,5″ contact_form_id=”3″] for the multiple downloads to work. You screen shots just end at adding the code to the contact form.

    Thanks for the note nyartboy,

We had the multiple file code outlined in the changelog, but we’ll plan to get a screenshot of it out there as well to make it clearer.

Good plugin – but sadly not very well documented. This could be real winner if you’d just explain things better (and therefore increase user experience). I’m sure the relatively low rating is purely due to lack of support and documentation.

The ability to style the tick-box list as mentioned before is absolutely essential. Your demo only looks tidy because you are using two identical file titles.

Also, the “screenshot 7” you keep referring to is not there (anymore). That’s confusing.

Are the checkboxes needed at all in case of multiple files?

I’m thinking of an implementation in which I have posts for downloads, some of which have one and some of which have multiple downloads. It would be confusing for my users to get a nice inline link in case of one download, but to have to check the checkboxes in case of multiple downloads.

    Hi nadworks and Mark,

You’re right that we hadn’t focused much on the multiple files feature or promoted how useful it really is. Thanks for the input and we’ll look at making some improvements to those features and adding some more info in the documentation.

We do try our best to provide free support and enhance the plugin in our spare time and appreciate everyone’s patience. Also, if you have any specific wording, screenshots, etc. to contribute, feel free as it will help us enhance the plugin for the community.

    Hi Mark,

It seems the screenshots aren’t displaying on the WordPress plugins repository. Please see the following thread to gain access to the screenshot:

Hi there, thanks for the update. I have seen the screenshots and got it working this way. Here are two specific suggestions that I hope are not too difficult for you to implement:

    1. Make the multiple downloads scenario work just like the single download — i.e. multiple inline links without the need to check boxes. This would be more helpful I think for many use cases.

    2. Support the Download Monitor (DM) custom formats for the inline links. This should be possible to do if you can pass the DM shortcodes, which are well designed. Essentially Email before download would act as a wrapper around Download Monitor, asking for an email before the download but otherwise using all relevant DM settings, including (custom) formats.

(Well, at least the first should not be too difficult…)

(Gentle bump — I know you must be busy with many other things, but did you see this last post of mine?)
