[Plugin: Email Address Encoder] Almost there! Works in Network Sites!

    We have a Network setup (WPMU) and I installed the plugin, activated it across the Network – and although you can’t see it listed in the network sites under Plugins, it still works. No extra coding needed, I checked the source code and the email addresses are encoded.

    The only issue I’m running into is for a custom plugin we have installed, it’s not protecting those email addresses for some reason. It only protects the emails in regular pages and posts. So I’m guessing Custom Post Types may be a problem, otherwise it’s a great plugin.

    If there is a way to protect emails in custom post types, I’d be interested in hearing how to do that.

    ugh. That’s no help ?? I’m not a php programmer, I’m a web designer – 2 different worlds. I don’t know what that code means, where it goes, etc. and I can’t have my client entering in over 500 email addresses wrapped in code LOL! Great idea if you’re a programmer though.

    This plugin is designed to be very fast and resource saving. Maybe you find another plugin that suits your needs, or just hire a developer to filter the custom post type content with this plugin.

    The code that’s mentioned in the FAQ, does that go in the functions.php file then? I’m assuming that, since you should never alter a plugin (or it will be lost during upgrades) but let me know if that’s the case.

    I’m afraid you’ll have to do more than copy & paste the code from the FAQ into your Theme’s functions.php and you need basic programing knowledge to do that. The quickest way to filter your custom post types too, is to apple the filter the_content to the output of the custom post type. I’d suggest to hire a WordPress developer to do that.
