• Hey guys, thanks so much for this uber useful tool. I installed it last night on my personal site: https://papercutny.com. Around 2am I made 4 draft posts in the calendar but never actually checked them in the Posts section of the dashboard. I made some edits to an existing post in the same window then put my computer to sleep.

I just returned to the Editorial Calendar now to edit one of the drafts and all of the posts I lined up are gone! Is there any way to recover them? Also, they aren’t showing up in the Drafts section of Posts either.

    Thanks folks…

  • Thank you for using the Editorial Calendar. I’m sorry you’re having trouble with it.

Can you give me a few more details about the steps you followed? I’m not sure what you mean by “checked them in the Posts section of the dashboard”

Normally when you save a post with the calendar it is automatically added to your database. I would try using the WordPress posts list to search for the posts you entered. They may be in there with a different date so they don’t show up in your current view of the calendar.

    Thanks,
    Zack

    Hey Zack,

Thanks so much for your response. More details:

+ When I said “checked them in the Posts section”, I meant that I clicked “All Posts” in the left side bar and none of the drafts were listed at all. I searched through every single post and none of them are there.

Let me see if I understand the issue properly.

    1. You go to the calendar.
    2. You click on the New Post link on a specific day.
    3. You fill in the quick edit form and save the post.
    4. You go to the WordPress Posts list and your post isn’t there.

Is that correct? After step three is the post in the calendar? If you refresh at that point is the post still there? Are there any errors when you save the post?

    Thanks,
    Zack

    Hey Zack,

Yes, that’s correct. When this originally happened, in between 3 and 4, I opened an already existing post (not inserted with the calendar) to edit it. When I returned to the calendar the next morning, all the previous drafts were gone.

Right now, as I’m trying the steps, the posts are still there. Maybe it was a browser glitch?

Please let me know if you see this issue again. I would be very curious to see if there are any errors on your JavaScript console when this happens.

    Thanks,
    Zack
