[Plugin: Edit Flow] Feature request: list of suggested topics
-
On our blog we have some authors who write articles about topics that are suggested by the editorial core team. Presently, these suggested topics must be put into various draft articles, producing a huge amount of draft “ruins” and lots of confusion about who is now actually working on a topic.
It would be useful to have the topics as short abstracts saved in a new type of custom posts. The core editors could then suggest topics – one topic per custom post -, add their comments and links and maybe even assign a priority.
Then, the authors would have access to this list of custom posts while writing their posts. I imagine that they would browse through the suggested topics, first those that are prioritized, and decide which one(s) to use in their posts. If they decide to use one or more topics, they mark them as “done” and they won’t show up for other authors any more. Best would be if they could open the list of suggested topics without leaving their editing screen – e.g. by a button that brings up the topics in an overlay. This should be possible similar to the media library – maybe with a button to paste the editor’s abstract into the editing window where it can be used for the article.
This sounds like some extra work, but I think this is very much needed. Thank you!
