First of all, great plugin. Installed it and it worked straight out of the bat. The only instructions I needed were the screenshots.

I’m looking for a further step. I’d like to open up my site for user/visitor/member generated content. Ideally I could give them a front end with tidy fields to fill in and then *something* would create the post based on your template.

i.e. A screen could pop up with:

    Movie:
    Genre:
    Actor:
    Year:

Some would be free text fields, others would be dropdowns from custom fields I have created.

Does anyone know if something like that is possible ?

Hi, from what i can understand you want something like this:

Please let me know if i’m wrong

    1. Admin creates a template and defines fields (and their type for validation purposes) inside it
    2. A user on the front-end can enter data to the fields and when it is (properly validated and) submitted, it will create post with general content from the template and fields replaced with values entered by the user

If that’s the case, i think that’s outside the scope of the Easy Content Templates plugin. Let me know if you’re interested in the development of a new plugin that does what you want.

Hi – I think dalben should check out Gravity Forms. Might be more appropriate for what he’s after with the User Generated Posts.

    Hi japaalekhinllemos

That’s it. If this site ever kicks off then I’m happy to pay for the fancy stuff. I doubt it though. thanks for the offer though.

kidalpha, thanks, Gravity does look like it has the features I am after. Again, I need to see some revenue from this site before I’d be prepared to pay for a plug in.

Yup what kidalpha suggested sounds like it would work. Though i never used any kind of forms plugin before.

@dalben: who told you i’d charge you for the development? ?? i can develop it for free given that i own the plugin and hold all the rights and whatever to the plugin. but if it’s free i can only develop it during free time so just tell me if you’re interested and maybe we can work something out

Ah, sorry, I totally misread your post ! Apologies again.

Let me get a very simple little brief of what I was thioking off. Gravity Forms certainly does it but it seems a massive overkill for what I was thinking.
