When testing my form, I noticed that the emails are sent from a default email from my domain host.

I thought that filling out the field “send from” in the settings would override this, but it does not.

no matter what I do in the app settings or form settings, all notifications and confirmations are sent throuhg another email address.

Is this an issue with the plugin or with my host (bluehost)?
The MX records are pointing to gmail because they control the email addresses from my domain.

  • If the email is coming from (username)@box###.bluehost.com then that means you need to make sure that the ‘from’ email address in your WordPress settings is set to one that is inside your hosting account.

Even though your email goes to gmail instead of bluehost, WordPress is sending email out from Bluehost, and you will need to create that email address on the Bluehost side only for sending. Inbound emails will still go to gmail.

    Thanks…
for future people who see this post this is what I did:

created another account through cPanel of bluehost
logged into that account and set it up so that the email from and reply to name were that of the email address I wanted it to be sent from (the o ne hosted by gmail).
then I went to easy contact forms settings and changed the send from address to the new one from bluehost
changed all the addresses in the “confirmation tab” of all of the forms.

    Thanks BH_WP_Guru!
