  • I’m not familiar with that plugin, but will have a look this evening. This plugin builds its email address without help from WordPress, so I imagine that’s the problem. So if there’s a better way, I’m all for it.

I’ll let you know what I find out.

One more thing: Off topic, but I’d like to be able to make the “legend” text bold, but when I insert that sort of command in your settings window, such as Your information, the formatting commands disappear when settings are served.

    ????

    Progress report please?

    Gene

The from email address/name should be fixed and compatible with plugins in the next release, 0.1.1, which should be available this afternoon.

As to the use of tags in legend text, currently all HTML will be stripped from the legend text fields. To bold the legend text, do this with CSS instead of b or strong for better semantic XHTML.

Let me know how it goes.

Much better. I don’t speak css very well, so should I be putting that in my css file? Yours? Where?

Also how about setting an option to adjust the message text area. I know I can do it in the plugin files, but having a setting makes it permanent ??

    Peace,
    Gene

Changing the text area should also be done via CSS. None of the styling for this form is integrated with the plugin functionality, which is intentional so it can be integrated more efficiently.

As for using the included sample style sheet file, see the FAQ section in the readme.

OK, we got the bold stuff functioning. Thanks.

    One more thing:

The legend text is centered in Apple Safari 3, but is left in Firefox 3.

    Check: https://www.macnightowl.com/contact/

    Ideas?

    Peace,
    Gene

I think you got it, Gene. It looks centered in Firefox 3.0.1 as it does in IE7.

Not quite. The text and text areas are centered. Legend text is left in Firefox 3.0.1 and IE7, and centered in Safari 3. I like the former, so why is it wrong in Safari?

One more thing: How about a preference for the size and width of the text area in settings? Other contact form plugins have that. ??

    Gene

One more thing: What do you edit? I see you’re in New York (I was born in Brooklyn).

First of all, thank you Scott, great plugin! Easy, clean and simple.

About Gene’s question, without using other plugins, I changed the “from” email address by editing econtact.php in the easy-contact folder.

When you find // Our from email address, go to line 229 (from email) and change "wordpress@$sitename" to "whateveryoulike@$sitename".

Then on line 231 (from name) and change ‘WordPress’ to ‘the name you want to display’.

    Hope this helps!
