I was recently using the Duplicator plugin to make a copy of my site and was happy to see that all database content and settings transferred successfully with the exception of my “WYSIWYG Widgets” plugin settings and content. I have two registered sidebars each that utilize the “WYSIWYG Widgets” plugin and noticed that the widgets are getting removed from the sidebars in the widgets admin panel of the newly generated site. Is this a common problem with widget settings/content not duplicating properly? It’s not a huge deal to re-add the content for 2 sidebars but in the case that I have 25 sidebars or am making a copy of the site everyday this can become quite cumbersome. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

  • Hey negrelja,

I hope to have this updated in the next version, which I hope to have out in the next few weeks. If you would like an active copy now, just submit a support ticket and I’ll gladly shoot you a working copy.

    Cheers!

    Hi negrelja,

I tested this in the latest version 0.3.1 and it looks to have worked on my server. Could you validate that process works for you?

    Thanks

    Hi,
when I uninstalling the plugin, then folder “wp-snapshots” is not deleted. Can you change this in the future?
After deleting packages: the log file exists.
    Great plugin!

    Hey m266,

I’ll add that to the todo list…

    Thxs

    Hi m266,

This is now in the Developer Version which you can download here

    Cheers!

    Hi Cory,

I’m sorry, but the folder “wp-snapshots” is not delete after deinstallation. Testet with Portable Version and Live-Version.

    Hey m266,

Your right my bad, I answered a request on the wrong thread. One of the fixes was to retain settings on update which was fixed, but your request for uninstall cleanup still needs to be added. I’ll look into this shortly sorry about the confusion!

    Hi Cory,

    thanks for your info.
Are you interested in a German language file?

Sure that would be great! Do you know how to use use PoEdit? If you want to expidite the process I know some people who have used this tool to fill in the content then they have gone in and cleaned it up. I assume you know German?

BTW The developer line should now have the uninstall features. Also on the system tab in the options dialog is an option to keep the snap-shots directory just in case. Let me know if you have any issues…

    Cheers!

    Hi Cory,
I wrote a German manual for your plugin and it will update.

A German language file for the plugin I’m writing later and I will test Pepipopum.

    Greetings Hans

    Hi Cory,

I have now created German language files and sent as mail to you.
Will you use it in the next version?

    Hey Hans,

It’s currently in the “Development Version” and will roll out in 0.3.2 when that version is ready.

    Thanks!

Have you by any chance tested this with godaddy hosting or something comparable? Is there a way to launch installer.php from the root directory of my domain? In theory this file is protected but just wondering if there is a way to allow access to installer.php temporarily. Any ideas?

I have done package creation testing on go-daddy with good success, but haven’t tried the installer portion. Technically it’s just a PHP file so if the chmod and chown permission are setup correctly on the root it should serve up the PHP file without any issues.

You could always try to create a file called test.php with a phpinfo() function inside to see if it works?

    Hope that helps!
