  • Holy cow!
First of all! Sorry, I hadn’t seen this topic earlier. Sorry for that.

I went to your site ( wordgrrls.com ) and wanted to check if the AMFPHP folder is working correctly (which is the script that saves the doodle to the server) but apparently you already removed the plugin so I can’t test it.

Feel free to mail me (doood-at-nocreativity-com) your error_log (zip the complete doodle plugin folder and send it to me ?? I’ll find the error_log myself if there are any) and any other error messages you see on the screen, php, mysql, or flash debug errors.

I’ll look into it asap. I’d love to help you out. ??

Hey there Ronny! this is Kevin from neoDeviants (https://neodeviants.com/). The plugin is working fine on our end. Shadowbox.js is not working, however. We described this at https://nocreativity.com/blog/dooodl-misery#comment-5854

Other than that, this plugin is great! Simple, clean, and functional. Are there plans for a more “advanced” version?

Oh, crap… Again, I didn’t see this post in time. Sorry to keep you waiting like that…

Yesssss, I have definitely plans to add more advanced features.

Admin panel, rating system for your users to rate the latest doodle, add admin panel to manage the doodles (remove doodles that are inappropriate, fave some doodles, hide some doodles from the public etc etc etc…), different types of dooodl editors and history viewers, etc etc.

I’ve got lots of updates coming up. I just need to find some spare time (but I’m kinda busy now… School got me busy again.. All kinds of projects to do ?? )

I’ll check out the problems you described on my site.

//edit: lol, just noticed it was you who posted everything were in order. Cool then!

hi there im having the same issue it just will not save doodls and i wanna put my wordpress site but need this, url https://www.irieuk.net/beta/ hope its a simple fix

    Hi IrieUK,
I should be able to access this url (but i can’t)
    https://www.irieuk.net/beta/wp-content/plugins/dooodl/amfphp/gateway.php

That’s what the creator needs to save the doodle. Make sure you allow access to that folder. Otherwise I can’t help you out.

Hello dooodl – I just tried out your application. It’s really nice, but after my dooodl was successfully saved, I couldn’t close the shadowbox window. It stayed there saying ‘Thank you for your dooodl’ (or something like that), but there was no possibility to close it. I couldn’t get back to the normal page in the background.

And is it possible to display the dooodls as a normal page on the blog, with all the dooodles as images, like a picture gallery, not with the 3d- browser? I’ll try to install the application on my blog.

You not being able to close the Shadowbox window must be related to your shadowbox settings (no close button? No modal disable click? etc?)

Showing the doodles without the Flash 3D browser might be an addition i add once I have more time. Maybe early 2010 (pretty dense schedule right now, so no time for personal projects ?? )

    Hi,

I really like this plug-in, but like others I am not able to save. All I get is a spinning green circle on the submission page. I have the latest version of WP with standard settings. I have checked the AMFPHP settings and this seems to be working. Any ideas what the problem might be?

I can give you access to the site if that would help.

    Many thanks

    Hi Sforgan,

Could you send me a link to the site? (It enables me to run a test and see where things go bad)

(Feel free to mail me :))

    Hi noCreativity,

I like the plugin, although like others I am not able to save. Alls I get is a spinning green circle on the submission page. I have the latest version of WP.

I’ve tried it in various browsers, Google Chrome, IE8, Firefox 3.5.5 and it’s still the same.

Many thanks for any help in advance.

    Just an update!

It’s seems to be working now, saving! ??

Might be something or nothing I saved a dooodl without putting any details in and it saved. ??

    Happy dooodl’s.

Had a similar problem saving but solved it by creating a ‘doodls’ folder in the ‘uploads’ folder with correct permissions. This is where the plugin is trying to save the files.

I need to work out how to solve this on a WPMU site now!! Or if you can tell me where the code is that sets this directory I can change it there.

    Hi
I’m having the same error- I get the text details show up within the preview but no image. I’m getting no images both within the preview and the main gallery.
Could it be that I was using it before(successfully) and have since reinstalled it within a new URL? I dont know… please help!
    The url is:
    https://www.doodle.whataboutstevenbailey.co.uk/
    Thanks,
    Steven

    Hello again,

I’ve tried everything… reinstalling worpdress with a set of new databases but still nothing.

    I give up.
