  • I have the same issue. No changes to plugins, caching or any other aspect of the site. Upgraded to 4.3 and the timeline disappeared. The shortcode is still on the page, but not displaying on the front end.

Exactly the same for me, I haven’t made any other modification.
Glad to see that I’m not the only one facing this issue.

    Hello Evan
Can we get a fix? Haven’t heard from you in 6 days.
    Thanks

After an automatic update to version 1.1.7.4 today the problem is the same, the timeline won’t display (only the header is visible).

    Hi Fonda,

Can you please provide a link to the page where your timeline is not appearing? It’s possible there is a JavaScript error or a conflict with another plugin. If all else fails I’ll need you to email me via the contact form on my site so we can discuss what may be going wrong.

    Thanks,
    Evan

    Hello Evan
    Here is the link https://www.fondaphotos.com/timeline/
The site is still using WP 4.2.5 but I’m upgrading it right now to 4.3.
I reverted to 4.2 2 weeks ago when I noticed the timeline issue.

Regarding conflicts with plugins, if this is the case then it’s only with WP 4.3 because there is no conflict with 4.2.

I may be able to save some time: i deactivated Yoast and the timeline showed up again. I deleted the cache (wp supercache) and reactivated yoast. all seems to be working again.

    Hope this helps you !

    @fonda61,

It looks like you have a javascript error on the page which is why the timeline isn’t fading in. It’s most likely another one of your plugins that has conflicts with WordPress 4.3.1. You may want to try deactivating plugins one at a time until you can locate the plugin causing the issue.

I can see that the timeline is there, the opacity is just set to 0. When things get up and running, the timeline should fade from 0 to 1, but since you have a js error the function doesn’t fire.

@d Lvn, thank you for reporting a fix to your issue here. I’m sure someone else will have a similar issue and that will help them out.

    Thanks,
    Evan

@d Lvn, No problem at all! I’m glad people find it so helpful.

Would you mind updating your review since things have started working again? I would greatly appreciate it ??

done. Thanks for getting back to us on this — really appreciated.

    Hello Evan
    Thank you for the feedback.
I started by inactivating Yoast SEO as suggested by D Lvn with no success.
Then I inactivated all plugins in my DEV site, even the 4 mandatory plugins that come with the theme and I still have the same problem. I have cleared the Firefox cache and also tried EDGE. I doesn’t work.
I can sometimes see the timeline for a 10th of a second and then it goes away.

Finally I run another test: I changed the theme to one of the standard themes provided by WP. The timeline is displayed properly.
Therefore there seems to be an incompatibility between your plugin and the theme I use, Fidelity. But only with WP 4.3. The theme hasn’t been upgraded since early May 2015, way before WP 4.3 was released.
What do you suggest? Should I contact the author of the theme?
Can you say what the JS error is about?

    Regards

    Hi Fonda61,

If the theme is a premium theme I won’t have access to test with it on my end to see what the issue is. If you can either send me the theme or grant me temporary access I can test against it, otherwise I would recommend contacting the theme author and asking what the issue may be. I can’t currently see on my end where things are going wrong.

    Evan
