Just installed this plugin and activated it. The first thing I see is an alert in the dashboard telling me IP Blacklist has some errors… and the errors are in tables that the IP Blacklist plugin itself has created. See log below.

Not very reassuring… I have since done the first APPLY FIX to fix the plugin’s own tables but I am very very leery of having the plugin touch any of my blog’s main tables (the bottom two APPLY FIX buttons).

However… the plugin DOES seem to work and it’s picking up and blocking malware login attempts that Sucuri is detecting. So I’m mostly happy.

    IP Blacklist Table

    –All fields found!
    –All fields types are OK!
    –Engine type is ‘MyISAM’ !
    —-Collation is NOT ‘utf8_general_ci’ !
    Username Blacklist Table

    –All fields found!
    –All fields types are OK!
    –Engine type is ‘MyISAM’ !
    —-Collation is NOT ‘utf8_general_ci’ !
    Failed Login Blacklist Table

    –All fields found!
    –All fields types are OK!
    –Engine type is ‘MyISAM’ !
    —-Collation is NOT ‘utf8_general_ci’ !

    Apply Fix! to all tables!

    Indexing

Indexes not found for Database Tables!
    Apply Fix!

Last Visit Indexes not found for Database Tables!
    Apply Fix!

    Hi,

Let me explain about fixing tables:

When I created this plugin, the format for tables was different so in new versions, I am keeping this to make sure when someone upgrades to new version, they can update database table too.

Secondly, it is not touching WordPress tables, just those which are linked with this plugin.

Good to hear that you can see login attempts after installing this plugin.

    Thanks Adeel!

I recommend you make these fixes automatic for current versions of WP so users don’t see an error the first time they install. That’s a red flag in my opinion. No one will find this problematic because you are only updating tables that your plugin has created.

Also, after I fix the Blacklist Cloud tables, I’m still seeing two APPLY FIX buttons on the Fixes page, for these two issues. I don’t know what they are and I don’t know what’s wrong with the tables, or how it affects performance:

    1) Indexes not found for Database Tables!
    2) Last Visit Indexes not found for Database Tables!

    Hi,

If you press those buttons, it will created indexes on IPBLC tables which are required to run database queries faster.

Let me know if you are still seeing those buttons.

Let me know if you would like writing help on documentation. I write for a living and I can help you clarify some of your error messages and plugin descriptions. I can only do a few pages due to other commitments, but I want to support good plugins like yours.
