After updating to the new version of OMGF the list of used Google Fonts is empty:

This section will be populated with all captured fonts, font styles and available options after saving changes.

    .

The plugin doesn’t seem to detect the fonts “Arimo” and “Libre Franklin” anymore. I tried Optimization Mode “automatically” and “manual” and used several sub-pages to scan, but the list is always empty.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    What version are you on?

    WordPress: 5.6.2
    OMGF: 4.2.8 (free version)

    Hi!

I see you’re using WP Fastest Cache. I think that plugin offers some Google Fonts optimization options, correct? Maybe disabling those will help resolve your issue.

    (@galbaras)

I think it’s actually because Arimo and Libre Franklin are being fetched from a script. To be detected, they should be properly enqueued as a link tag.

Yeah, but because he mentioned that it did work before updating, I’m assuming some plugin is making the fonts load asynchronously. OMGF v3 might’ve triggered before that plugin, while OMGF v4 could trigger after — and not detect the fonts.

    (@galbaras)

    The plugin description says:

    • Automatically replace registered/enqueued Google Fonts in wp_head() with local copies
    • Automatically remove registered/enqueued Google Fonts from wp_head()

    Is there some other detection?

    Plugin Author DaanvandenBergh

    (@daanvandenbergh)

Haha, no. What I meant to say was:

    – OMGF v3 might’ve triggered before the other plugins, when at that point the stylesheets are still properly enqueued.
    – OMGF v4 might trigger after the other plugin, when the stylesheets aren’t properly enqueued anymore.

I might be blinder than I think, but I don’t see these fonts enqueued anywhere. They only appear inside a script. In theory, your plugin should never find them, regardless of the version.

You’re not blind! I can see you perfectly fine! ??

Let’s wait for a reply to my initial question ??

Thank you for your suggestions. I don’t use the paid version of WP Fastest Cache, so I can’t load Google Fonts asynchroniously or optimize them in any way. I have only enabled these settings: https://imgur.com/fA8lJfk

The fonts should either be loaded by Edge Slider or Visual Composer. And yes, it worked in the past, but idk if v4 of OMGF is the problem or an update of WordPress or a plugin.

Ok! Thanks for your response. Are you getting any errors in your console when you set OMGF to Automatic, visit your frontend, and check your console (F12)?

You might have to reload the page with the console open to see all errors. Also check the network tab, to see if any errors occur with OMGF’s API (/wp-json/omgf/v1/…)

    Thread Starter x06designs

    (@x06designs)

I don’t see any errors, but in the network tab I think OMGFs API doesn’t load. I set it to automatically. You can check it by yourself if you want. I leave the setting like that.

I see you’ve disabled OMGF now, so I can’t see what you meant earlier.

Did the OMGF API load, but an error occurred? Or was it blocked or something?

    Thread Starter x06designs

    (@x06designs)

No, OMGF is active and set to Optimization Mode “Automatic”.
I disabled WP Fastest Cache and Wordfence to see if they are blocking the OMGF API, but even then I can’t find it in the networks tab of the developer console.
It seems that the plugin is completely non-functional in this WordPress environment, but I don’t get why.

Hmmm… This is a really weird issue. Can you tell me a little bit more about your server configuration? Are you on Apache/Nginx/LiteSpeed? Are you using a CDN and if so, which one? What theme and plugins are you using?
