• I have downloaded and installed to loco translation plugin to help translate my website. However, after downloading and installing the plugin, it doesn’t appear in the wordpress dashboard. Therefore, I can not use it. I have tried reinstalling it, but that doesn’t help. I have checked the plugin section, but it says it is installed and doesn’t give any errors. Also, I have updated my wordpress theme to the most recent version.

How can I solve this problem?

What is the plugin? How/where is it installed?

Loco Translate uses the WordPress function get_plugins to detect all available plugins, but it also uses wp_cache_get to cache the result. do you have some custom object caching plugin installed? What happens if you flush it?

Sorry, I was a bit unclear. I have only downloaded the loco translation plugin to translate my website.

The loco translation plugin was installed normally under ‘dashboard – plugins – add new’.

I have also installed the ‘Autoptimize’ plugin. Could this have something to do with it, considering this plugin creates caches?

What do you mean by ‘flushing it’?

    Ok, I misunderstood.

I don’t know why Loco Translate doesn’t appear for you. Perhaps you don’t have permission to access it? Please give more detail.

Flushing a cache means emptying it.

I am the admin, so it would be weird if I didn’t have permission for it. Right?

I could give you my login details if that would help?

yes it would be weird. The loco_admin permission should be automatically assigned to the super user.

I can’t accept login details as debugging your site is beyond the support I offer.

If you can provide enough detail for me to reproduce the problem in a test environment I will fix any bugs that present themselves. Otherwise you will have to debug the problem on your own server.

    I understand, no worries.

Sure, what details would you need from me? I have already mentioned most of the details, as no errors appear. I have just installed and activated the plugin. The plugin appears in the ‘installed plugins’ overview, but doesn’t appear on the left side in the wordpress dashboard. The wordpress theme I use is ‘Listingpro’. What other details would you need from me?

I need enough detail to reproduce the problem. As I don’t know what the problem is, I can’t tell you what the relevant detail is.

The wordpress theme I use is ‘Listingpro’.

I wouldn’t expect your theme to be related to the issue. But an obvious first step is to eliminate such things, as advised here: https://localise.biz/wordpress/plugin/faqs/debug-info
