• Hey there

Love this plugin. I was hoping that you would be able to remove the Note from your plugin that says “this plugin does not work on WP Engine’ I work at WP Engine and I can assure you this plugin works fine as long as we provide customer with a couple of cache exclusions.

    We exclude this cookie: bid_1_password_protected_auth

We exclude this argument as well: password-protected

These ensure the plugin works without issue. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

  • I’ve asked WPEgnine support to exclude the cookie. The plugin works sometimes, however it seems very temperamental. The site is still occasionally accessible to people with no password!

For this reason I’ve had to drop this plugin unfortunately. @castroboy any thoughts?

    Hey there,

Hmm that is odd. These particular cache exclusions should get it to bypass cache without issue. Double check to make sure they are also excluding not just the cookie but the argument “password-protected” as well to be sure.

Also, I would recommend playing with this on your staging environment as on WPE staging, there is absolutely no cache. So if you find the plugin to be temperamental on staging as well, then you know it could not be cache but maybe a conflicting plugin.

    Hope this helps!
