    Hey,

first: great plugin! Simple and effective. Worked fine for me since I installed it, but somehow, somewhere, it stopped sending events to GA. I really cannot explain this, because I did no major changes to the website immediately before it stopped working.

The only guess I have is that it could be the Google Analytics Plugin by Yoast. I always used it and it worked perfectly (also with RBR), but the last update of it was the same day RBR stopped working.

Besides, there is no evidence of RBR in the source code. If I change call from footer to header, the RBR-js appears in the source, but it doesn’t fire events to Google either (and it worked in the footer before…)

    This is my website: https://www.weltenschummler.com

I would appreciate any help very much. Thx!

    Cheers
    Marvin

    Hi,

I have looked at your website’s page source and indeed, there is no trace of my plugin. Several options are possible:

    – wrong plugin settings (plugin might be deactivated either in the WP menu or the plugin settings)
    – By default, the script will be added to the bottom of the page. If the link to the script is not present, your theme might not have wp_footer() in the footer.php.
    – Maybe a conflict with another plugin (which is almost impossible).

I have a website with both WordPress SEO and Reduce Bounce Rate and there is no problem. When you get back the script in the footer of your website, the events will be send to Analytics again.

Going on holiday tomorrow, so there may not be a reply soon.

Thank you for letting me know. I’m going to look at it as soon as I am back from holiday.

    Hi Okoth1,

got the right settings, plugin is not deactivated. As I said before, RBR worked fine until the GA plugin update by Yoast, so there is no problem with the footer.php either (I am using Genesis Framework).

@mueggemarvin yeah it seems that Yoast has changed something in his code. What I don’t understand is why it’s still working for me. Have to look at it again.

This may solve it for you, but I can’t give more details since I am on a stupid tablet.

@chuck around the 10th I will be back. Going to fix this as soon as I am back. Going to look into the git repo as well.

Link in the above reply may solve it for now.

yup I found the commit in their repo. I’ll work on a fix tomorrow. Here’s their commit that changed it: https://github.com/Yoast/google-analytics-for-wordpress/commit/bcd70a62e1670516246244d67ef7f3dc505342e3

Also would your plugin work fine with Google Tag Manager? We’re probably going to switch to using that.

    Hello Okoth,

I’m having kind of the same problem using Yoast and Genesis, as my analytics have not changed since I installed your plugin a few days ago.

I saw you indeed take the time to read our comments, so I wanted to let you know. Thanks a lot for all your work!

Anyone want to help testing the new adjustments to the plugin so that it works together with GA for WP? Send your email to okoth1 at gmail dot com. Today or tomorrow I’ll have it ready. Still have to unpack my suitcase lol

@chuck Not sure if it will work with Google Tag Manager because I have not looked at how the Tag Manager processes the events. I probably won’t be able to look at it before February.

I can’t get this plugin to work. I’ve checked the source all works fine, it has been over 5 days I don’t see any change so far :/
