    Hello,

I have a problem on all my site that I installed Google Doc Embedder 2.5.22 plugin for WordPress. This morning I update on WordPress 4.4 and then your plugin doesn’t work anymore.

In fact now, when I upload a document on media, and then I insert on a page or article it, the system insert the title of the document rather than “[gview file=”….”]”.

    Can I solve?
    Thank you

    Thank you for your message.

Unless I’ve missed something, there is no version 2.5.22…

The most recent version is 2.5.20 and that was updated to work with WP 4.4. It doesn’t sound like you are using that version.

Maybe the easiest thing would be to Deactivate and Delete the plugin, then go to Add New and search for it and install from scratch. That should pick up the latest version.

    Regards,

Dear Dan, thank you for your reply. I have this version in all my website. And then WordPress says that is the last version of plugin. You can see the screenshot here: https://img.ctrlv.in/img/15/12/15/5670858e4ec10.jpeg

You are right that there was previously a 2.5.22 – I believe the WordPress repository has been corrupted at some point.

I think my instructions above would still have worked, but to ensure everyone is on the same page, I have renamed the ‘latest’ version 2.5.20 to 2.6.

So the latest version is now 2.6 (should be available soon if not already), and this should be compatible with WP4.4.

    Thanks,

    Dan

I update the plugin, but there is still the error. When I click on “Add media” > and insert a document, plugin doesn’t insert the string “[gview file=”……”].

    Thank you

For other readers, there seemed to be an issue with the WordPress user that was preventing them from being allowed to insert the shortcode. We’re not sure why!
