[Plugin Development] Insert a div before/after/append a div

Hi,

I am developing a plugin which will have different options which will display different styles.

The problem I am having is that I would like to have the main options set through my plugin to append the header element or prepend the main content element. The reason being is that I want to be able to utilise the full width of a page, when set.

I dont really want to use jQuery, but as a php function instead.

Any help php or jQuery will be appreciated.
