I have a plugin that was de-activated in late Aug of 2020 and I didn’t realize it until now. I look for any email that state the reason, but can’t locate any feedback. I wrote [email protected] to ask for guidance multiple times, but haven’t received anything back.

At this point I’m not sure what to do or if anyone is even receiving my questions so I can get this resolved. It’s a real bummer.

Is anyone else is the same situation here?

    Thanks!

  • Most plugins that are suspended are because of bounced email. The plugin team has to be able to communicate with the author. They send out an email before every major release, and work through the bounced email list, suspending those plugins.
If you wrote them, they very likely did reply. But it sounds as though you didn’t get the reply, same as not getting the original email about the release.
You have to fix your email first, and send them a note that it is fixed. Once you can establish that communication is possible, they will tell you about your plugin. It’s likely that the email was the only reason.

    Hello Joy,

    Thanks for the reply.

Yes, that’s what happened early this year because I forgot to change my WP email after changing domain TLDs. But this time I’m not sure what happened. Our SMTP server has been running fine as far as I can tell. I did get the notice from your forum reply OK, so I think communication should not be an issue.

Guess I’ll just wait and see. Would be nice if they had an auto-responder to confirm that the email was received or qued up for review.

Don’t wait very long, since they are pretty prompt. See if there is some other problem with your email.

Check you spam folder before deciding there’s no response. Forum notifications not going to spam does not mean plugins email won’t. I’ve had messages from whitelisted senders land there.

Thanks. I actually sent a followup email from my gmail account (ie. “Are you receiving any of my emails”) and plugin support did get back with me. They said that they did send several emails but got a bounce (no timestamp on the bounce headers they sent so I can’t confirm if it was an old SMTP issue on my end or not). Anyway, I responded back and I’m finally now receiving support emails TO my MAIN plugin publisher’s email address. Yay.

Now it’s on to the code review process. It’s just odd because I’ve been receiving repo notices without fail as far as I can tell. But at least we’re back in the communication loop so we can get re-listed.

    Thanks all for the feedback.
