• The plugins dashboard for my wordpress network has disappeared though plugins are working and updates, too. When I checked with my website https://www.whatsnewonthenet.com in the WP network, the plugin dashboard there too has disappeared. Any suggestions on what could have gone wrong?

  • Hi NuNet,

When you say that the plugins dashboard has disappeared, do you mean that you cannot navigate to the plugins section via the WordPress Dashboard? That is, the link in the left column is no longer there? Or do you mean that when you navigate to the plugins page within the WP Dashboard, nothing constructive loads there, perhaps just white screen?

Also, did you recently update your version of WordPress or any of the plugins?

    HI Liam

Thank you very much for your quick response. You are right – the plugin link is seen on the left hand side but when I click on it, only a white/blank screen appears.
Also, unfortunately, I am reporting this late….this happened a while ago, and I’ve been continuing in this manner for some time so dunno whether it happened after a new plugin was installed or not. But I suspect it could be bcause of a new plugin install though do not remember which one. Unfortunately, now because of the white screen cannot even start switching off the plugin, one by one…simply because I cannot “see” any of the plugins in the dashboard. Thanks again

    Hi NuNet,

Yeah, I get that. We deal with the issue or develop workarounds until the issue absolutely demands our attention. I’ve been there, done that.

I’d recommend disabling all of your plugins and then reactivating them one-by-one to troubleshoot which plugin might be causing the issue.

Here’s a link on how to do that when you don’t have access to the WordPress Dashboard, or in your case, the plugins section of the dashboard:

Hey Thanks, Liam. We are on a VPS so can we do the same FTP process through webmin/virtualmin? Dont have Cpanel.

    Hi NuNet,

Yep, you sure can. Just S/FTP into your site and rename the individual plugin folders. That will disable them.

Okay, thanks Will do that. In case, things go wrong, will holler. Either way, shall keep you posted here. Thanks for all the help, appreciate it!

You’re most welcome! And good luck!
