[Plugin: Custom Post Permalinks] Custom permalinks sometimes resets itself

  • I have really enjoyed this plugin other than one odd problem. Randomly (seemingly) the permalinks will reset from /article/%section%/%issue%/%article% to just /article/%article%. It’s an easy fix but more of a convenience issue. Anyone have any ideas or also experiencing this problem?

  • I too am having the same issue. I would consider this to be quite an important issue as users instantly lose access to all the content that dependeds on a set permalink.

    I’ve checked the rewrite settings in the .htaccess file and there is no rewrite of the custom post type declaration in functions.php.

    The resetting appears to be random, and only for custom post types in which I’ve included %month% and %year%.

    Has anyone else experience this or found a way to solve it? I would prefer not to add some hardcode into the plugin but it’s looking like that might be my only option. Another odd thing that we may have noticed is that it seems like sometimes this problem only happens when logged in as the admin. Maybe that could help shed some light onto the source of this issue?
