[Plugin: Custom Login] Modifying text color

I am trying to change the color of the “Register” & “Lost Your Password” links. I tried using the

#nav a {
	color: #222 !important;

tags to change the color but I dont think this is where I change the color. Can you help me out? Im about 4 hours new to CSS.
