  • Basically, it allows you to display images in excerpts or other areas of your theme. You can find more detailed info here: https://scribu.net/wordpress/custom-field-images

Hi, This plugin is something i could use since i deal with images in every post, but i was hoping to know what would happen to existing custom fields i have with images already set? could they work together?

Unfortunately no. You could try to put those images into your posts directly and then do an Import.

Your link seems to be down, at least at the time of this writing.
I’ll have to install it to see if it suits my needs. I’m looking for a plugin that would allow me to choose an image to assign to a custom field, instead of manually entering the image’s url in the custom fields area. Even better if the upload is integrated into it.

This plugin has an Insert CFI button that appears in the default upload interface.

how can I get this to work for the side bar? I don’t want this to work with in the post, I want it to work to a specific posts sidebar

I’m curious could a plugin be made like yours but working with Insert CFI button which fills the a regular standard custom field in WordPress? Or is that impossible? Im seeking a way of getting picture url into a custom field without having to copy and paste the url.

It could be done, but you should wait until WordPress 2.9 comes out and see if you still need such a plugin.
