this is perhaps one of the best plugins, ever. using [0.9.5.11-pl] is a joy!

and now for the inevitable feature request:

if you have a custom field that is an image,
and you have a content type with that field,
and you turn on ‘customize columns’ and include the image field as one to display,
then you get the image at full-size when looking at the list of edit.php?post_type=xyz

since the width of the columns is limited, you get the full-height image with the width truncated.

perhaps it would be good, if possible, to have the image presented scaled down?

There are already a couple issues related to this:

The fundamental problem is that WP’s image API is limited (and inconsistent) and many servers will not support manipulation of large images (ImageMagick is required).

hopefully, there’s a simple fix… having to do a lot of work with the WP image API is undesirable.

Yeah, I’m not at all impressed with the WP image API. It seems completely myopic in its use cases, and more importantly, it seems to flat out fail in others — i.e. it would return an image tag that you THOUGHT referenced a smaller image, but in reality, it had just returned the full sized image wrapped in a tag that used smaller height and width attributes. *facepalm*

Thanks for filing the feature request. If there’s a paying gig involved where this feature could be brought to the fore, that definitely helps speed the development.
