    Hey there,

I saw the note that the custom Hierarchy is experimental. I am just writing a note to say that when I activated it, I set it only to allow Pages to be parents. Interestingly, only the pages that were sub-pages (or children) of only one of the top level pages appeared as available parents; no other top level page or other child page was available.

Hope you get a chance to work with that — I’d like to be able to use the built in default WordPress current-page-ancestor class in the nav.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, the WP architecture is pretty horrifically bad, so tinkering with this thing in particular was bound to mess up SOMETHING. I literally couldn’t believe the lengths the built-in functions had gone to to PREVENT logical flows when it comes to custom content types.

Would you mind filing this as a bug/improvement in the bug-tracker? https://code.google.com/p/wordpress-custom-content-type-manager/issues/list

I don’t keep tabs on what’s in the forums… the only way I keep my sanity and can prioritize fixes is if they’re in the bug-tracker.

    Thanks!

Hey there… hahahaha ‘fire proof socks’ that’s hysterical.

I wound up creating custom content types by code, and I ran into the same issue, so I’m pretty sure it’s not your bug as much as a WP back-end bug, but I’ll register it anyway.

    Thanks for your time!

–I”m marking this as resolved, as we’re moving it over to a different system. Make sense?

Ha… interesting. There is a query that I had to write to list available choices for that hierarchical dropdown… there wasn’t even a viable event to tie to, so the “solution” is fairly inefficient, but I think it can be tweaked to do what you need.

    Thanks!
