Be wary. Great plugin but they will count all bots, crawlers etc as visitors! We have 1/10 of the visits they count as “visitors”. Do I really want to pay to lazy load and serve optimized images to every bad bot and web crawler on the internet? Nope.

Increased price for plans as well after signup. Wow.

    Hi @mark_webdev,

If you don’t want specific bots to access your site you can block them from your hosting or firewall. As long as you don’t want to display your content, where the images are embedded, to your users, Optimole can’t show them either.

My point is that you don’t want to serve images to specific bots, why would you want to still show the page without the images to them?

Let me know if I’m wrong, we are actively working to improve this mechanism so every feedback is appreciated.

Just to remind, our stats are daily, i.e if you have two visits from the same user into two different days, they will be counted as 2. If you have two visits from the same user, on the same day, they will be counted as one.

    I hope this helps.

Your usage numbers are way off (exaggerated) even accounting for extra usage by bots and those using adblock. I have server logs to verify the huge discrepancy between actual hits to site versus what your “Optimole usage reports” claim. You have also raised the price a LOT since I signed up less than a month ago.

Not great way to launch your product (which functions great). Tactics like you are using will get out. I know of two major blog outlets reviewing the plugin which are rewriting their review articles based on the two issues mentioned above. Price jump & inaccurate visit reports. Best of luck.

    Hello Mark,
    ?
?Thanks for your honest feedback! We are working right now to filter bots traffic in stats, hopefully, this will be released soon.
    ?
?Regarding the pricing change, indeed we did increase our price to better reflect the upcoming changes that we want to bring to Optimole, better performance, caching and watermarking, cloud media library support and many others, and at the same time keep a sustainable business.
    ?
    ?Have a nice day ahead!
