• I’ve been using the plugin for a while without issue, but when I tried to add an event today it threw an error. I tried deactivating and removing and reinstalling but I get the following error in the settings page…

Fatal error: Fergcorp_Countdown_Timer::events_meta_box() [fergcorp-countdown-timer.events-meta-box]: The script tried to execute a method or access a property of an incomplete object. Please ensure that the class definition "Fergcorp_Countdown_Timer_Event" of the object you are trying to operate on was loaded _before_ unserialize() gets called or provide a __autoload() function to load the class definition in fergcorp_countdownTimer.php on line 388

    Any advice?
    Cheers

@jonscaife: Hmm…not sure what the issue is. What version of PHP and WP are you using?

    wordpress 3.4.1 with PHP 5.3.8

I updated earlier today and the error went away (with no events listed) but as soon as I add an event the error returns

my suspicion is a database issue – what tables / entries does the plugin create?

@jonscaife: I just tried with a fresh installation of Countdown Timer using WordPress 3.4.1 and PHP 5.3.13 and had no problems. Can you try deleting and reinstalling the pluggin using the WordPress Dashboard?

I’ve done that – including deleting all the files (and the folder) and then reinstalling. the error comes back. hence my wondering about a database issue?

@jonscaife: Did you delete the folder manually or use the “Delete” button from within the WordPress Dashboard?

It’s important that you use the Delete button from the WordPress dashboard because that clears out the database settings for the plugin.

Used the delete button and then confirmed the delete via ftp.

I’ve just discovered that turning off W3TC resolves the issue. So its a compatibility issue. At least I can work around it by temporarily disabling W3TC

    Cheers
