Plugin could not be activated, fatal error?

    Today I tried to install this plugin and it fails with

    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home4/baggage/public_html/baggage.com/wp-content/plugins/fancy-gallery/plugin.php on line 29

    Any suggestions?

    I found another similar message here. I am running wp on a shared hosting server with php 5.4.43. Is that version of php not supported?

    Hmm, demoted my site to php 5.2, uninstalled, reinstalled plugin, same error?

    You need at least PHP 5.3 but I would recommend PHP 5.6.
