    I am getting the following msg when activating the plugin :

    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in /var/www/html/wordpress-multisite/wp-content/plugins/search-exclude/search-exclude.php on line 325

    This is my PHP version :
    PHP 5.3.3 (cli) (built: Oct 29 2019 09:41:20)
    WordPress 4.8.15

    Hi @gat2123,

    Thanks for reporting. That happens because I’m using short array syntax which is available since PHP 5.4. I might do a backward compatibility fix soon.

    However, I strongly recommend updating PHP on your server instead. At least to PHP 5.6, because 5.3 branch is not supported since 2014 https://www.php.net/archive/2014.php#id2014-08-14-1 and can contain security issues.
